Here's a project for
you and your
congregation to help
people in Wichita
and surrounding
area. It's
big --
people all over are
taking part in
collecting personal
care items for "Bags
of Blessings,"
because we care!
Please pass this
along to your service
group, women or
men's group, youth,
and Vacation Bible
School
.
Why? A mother
wants to send
children to school
clean, but
doesn't have
hygiene supplies
they need. A
father needs
personal care
items to prepare
for his job
search. A
homeless man
needs personal
care items to feel
decent and
respectable. We
care!!
What: This is a major
united collection of
personal care items in
gallon-size closable plastic
bags for kits to distribute
to people through shelters,
assistance and meal
centers, schools and places
that reach people in need.
Our goal is to collect a
total of 1000 or more Bags
of Blessings from
everyone. Any amount that
you can give is welcome!

**
We will add a prayer
blessing to each personal
care kit
.

Here is an opportunity
for us to make a real
difference for a faith-
based agency of our
area, serving
neighbors in need...
“Venturing
Together.”
Partners
For Wichita invite you
and your congregation
to make special
contributions to
Episcopal Social
Services/Venture
House during the
month of May, or as
soon as possible.
As you give a special
contribution, grant, or offering,
you will be helping to transform
the lives of people through
employment assistance, youth
offender services, food outreach,
representative payee services,
and behavioral health programs.
These social services are
meeting critical needs today,
and offer new life and new
beginnings. You may learn more
about the ministry of Episcopal
Social Services through their
website
www.esswichita.org or
phoning 316-269-4160.

English for Speakers of Other Languages Classes
ESOL
St. Paul's English for Speakers of Other Languages
School offers an educational program to meet the
needs of adult students who are English Language
learners.  This program addresses two areas:
language acquisition and cultural adjustment.  The
goal of the ESOL Program is to provide students
with the opportunity to develop communication
skills in speaking, listening, reading and writing
and enabling students to be successful within the
community.  The program will assist students
through their cultural adjustment by helping them
develop an understanding  of American culture.  At
the same time, students will be encouraged to
share their cultural backgrounds and realize the
importance of their role in a multicultural society.
